YOGURT AND POTATO MASALA TOAST

I tasted this recipe at a friend's home in India.Believe me friends your Kids will love this colorful tasty toast.This is very yummy and easy to make !!! This toasts are great in a kid's lunch box treat.







INGREDIENTS:-

Bread-10 slices(white or brown)
Yogurt-2 tbsp
Cooking spray or oil

FOR MASALA-

Boiled potato-2 medium(peeled and mashed well)
Finely chopped onion-1 small
Finely chopped tomato-1 small
Finely chopped green chili-2
Ginger-garlic paste-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Red chili powder-1/4 tsp
Coriander powder-1/8 tsp
Cumin powder-1/8 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds-1/4 tsp
Curry leaves-handful
Asafetida-a pinch
Chopped coriander leaves-1 tbsp
Oil-2 tsp
Salt to taste








METHOD:-

1-Trim the edges of the bread and give shape to your bread,(round,square,triangle whatever you want)Keep aside.
2-In a bowl take 2 tbsp of yogurt,if your yogurt is thick then add some water,mix well and keep aside.
3-In a pan heat oil,add curry leaves and mustard seeds,let them splutter.
4-Then add cumin seeds,chopped onion and green chili,fry the onions till transparent.
5-Then add ginger-garlic paste and fry till the oil separates from the frying pan.
6-Then add salt,turmeric,chili,coriander,cumin powder,mix properly.
7-Then add the chopped tomatoes and cook till soft and oil separates.Then add mashed potato and mix properly.Sprinkle little water so that the mixture does not stick to the pan.
8-Keep stirring on a low flame and cook for 5-6 minutes.Sprinkle lemon juice and mix well.Garnish some chopped coriander leaves,remove from heat and let them cool.
9-Heat a flat pan,spray cooking oil on it.Take a piece of bread, apply some potato masala on one side and  yogurt on the other side.
10-Place the potato masala side bread piece on  the heated pan,cover the pan and cook in low flame about 4-5 minutes.
11.Remove the lid and take it out , serve it hot with ketchup.

NOTE-Do not heat the side with yogurt.
