Boiled Potato-2(Peel and mash coarsely)
Chopped onion-2 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste-1/2 tsp
Chopped Green chilies-2 nos
Red chili powder-1/8 (if needed)
Coriander powder-1/3 tsp
Cumin-chili powder-1/3 tsp
turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Chat masala-1/4 tsp
Lemon juice-1 tsp
Salt to taste


Gram flour-1 cup
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Chili powder-1/3 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder-1/4 tsp
Baking Soda-1 pinch(optional)
Salt to taste
Hot oil-2 tsp

Sandwich bread-4 slices
Oil for frying


1-Mix all the ingredients for the batter along with water into a paste of medium to thick consistency.Keep aside.Add 2 tsp of hot oil to the batter(it will make pakoras crispy).

 2-Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan.Add the onion and green chili.Fry till onion becomes translucent.Then add ginger garlic paste fry for 2 minutes.
3-Add the turmeric powder,coriander powder,cumin-chili powder,chili powder(if needed),chat masala and salt and stir fry for 30 secs.
4-Add smashed potatoes and fry for few minutes.Sprinkle lemon juice and mix well.Remove from fire and allow to cool down to a tolerable temperature.

5-Cut each bread slice into two triangle shapes.Spread a thick layer of the stuffing between 2 bread slices and press hard.Repeat the same procedure with all slices.
6-Heat sufficient oil in a kadhai.Dip the bread triangles in the batter and put into the oil.Fry on both sides till golden brown.

7-Remove from kadhai and keep on a paper towel.Serve hot with ketchup or tamarind chutney or green chutney.
