CREME BRULEE

Crème brûlée also known as burnt cream,creme catalana or Trinity cream is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a contrasting layer of hard caramel.It is normally served at room temperature.
The custard base is traditionally flavored with vanilla.So let's start...


INGREDIENTS:-

Egg yolks-4
Heavy cream-1 cups
Sugar-1/4 cup
Vanilla extract-1 tsp
White sugar-8 tsp(for caramelized topping)
Ramekins-4

METHOD:-

1-Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
2-In a large mixing bowl,whisk egg yolks and sugar thoroughly.
3-Afterwards,add heavy cream and vanilla extract and whisk until well blended.Evenly pour mixture into each ramekin.
4-Place ramekins in water bath (water-filled pan) and bake in oven until set around edges,but still soft in middle (approximately 40-45 minutes).
5-Remove from oven and let stand until cooled.Take cups from water bath and chill in refrigerator for 1-2 hours or overnight.
6-When ready to serve,evenly sprinkle about 2 tsp of sugar on top of each custard.Use blow torch to melt sugar topping until lightly browned.
7-Re-chill custards in refrigerator for a few minutes.Then, serve and enjoy.
(Instead of using blow torch you can make caramel and sprinkle over cream brulee.
Take 2 tbsp of sugar and 2 drops of water in a frying pan and caramelize it on a low flame by constantly stirring.Once the sugar turns light brown in color,switch off the flame and immediately take the frying pan off the stove and Sprinkle over cream brulee)
