The most popular "Aloo Jeera" delight from Delhi cuisine is a very popular dish among the people of north side of India.It is most delicious potato dish popular all over India and can be prepared within a few minutes.Cumin seeds add flavour and exciting aroma to the potatoes.


Boiled potato-2 large(peeled and cut into cubes)
Chopped ginger-1 tbsp
Sliced Green chilies-2(length wise)
Cumin seeds-1 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Coriander powder-1/4 tsp
Dry mango powder-1/2 tsp
Roasted cumin powder-2 pinch
Crushed coriander-1/2 tsp
Asafetida powder-2 pinch
Garam masala powder-1/4 tsp
Fresh coriander leaves-1 tbsp
Oil-1 1/2 tbsp
Salt to taste


1-Heat oil in a pan on medium-high heat,add asafetida powder,cumin seeds,crushed coriander and saute till seeds crack.
2-Add chopped ginger and green chilies and saute for few minutes.

3-Add chili powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,salt and let it sizzle and fry lightly.(take care not to burn them)

4-Then add boiled potato and mix properly with masala and fry 3-4 minutes and keep stirring for every minute.

5-Add garam masala powder and dry mango powder and mix well and cook till all the potatoes should be coated with spices.

6-Turn off heat and sprinkle roasted cumin powder and coriander leaves,serve hot.
