Tomatoes-4 medium size
Chopped onion-1 small
Minced Ginger-2 tsp
Curry leaves-5-6
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
Red Chili powder-1/4 tsp
Dry red chili-2
Panch phutan-1 tsp (Cumin seeds,Fennel seeds,Fenugreek seeds,Mustard seeds,Nigella seeds)
Raisins-2 tbsp
Dates-1/2 Cup
Sugar-1/2 Cup
Salt to taste
Oil-1 tbsp


1-Heat oil in a pan.
2-Then add panch phutan and let them sputter.
3-Then add dry chili,ginger and curry leaves.
4-Add chopped tomatoes,dates,raisins,turmeric powder,chili powder and salt.
5-Saute for few minutes until water from the tomatoes dries up.
6-Add sugar and cook until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture thickens in consistency.
7-Cook it for 2 to 3 min, then remove from flame and serve.
